The VCU Office of Service-Learning builds VCU’s capacity to educate the doers and thinkers of the future through community-engaged teaching and learning partnerships that enhance the vitality of our city and region. We collaborate with both on- and off-campus partners to strengthen VCU’s civic ethos and to graduate lifelong engaged citizens.

To develop and steward civic learning and community engagement resources and curricula.
To provide professional development in civic learning and community engagement to faculty members, university administrators and community partners.
To provide education in civic learning and community engagement to VCU students.
To lead scholarship activities and the dissemination of scholarly products within the areas of civic education and service-learning.
To implement continuous improvement assessments that focus on student, faculty and community partner experiences with civic education and service-learning.
