The Cornerstone Community Farm was featured in an April 6 Richmond Times-Dispatch article, "Grant expands farm-to-school project in eastern Henrico."
The farm encompasses four acres adjacent to Fairfield Middle School and is part of a larger farm-to-school urban agriculture program. With a $50,000 grant by the National Association of Conservation Districts to promote urban agriculture conservation, the farm project is a partnership between The Henricopolis Soil and Water Conservation District (HSWCD); the Community Food Collaborative; and Henrico County Public Schools.
The Cornerstone farm is a Currents of Change award winner and partner for Professor Joseph Cates' UNIV 211 "Food for Thought" service-learning course.
